The week after Easter will be an opportunity for ministers in South Louisiana to take a breather thanks to one elder and eight ministers from Cimarron Presbytery who will "labor" in the hurricane-affected bounds of South Louisiana Presbytery.
An airline flight from Oklahoma City to New Orleans on March 27 could be dubbed the "Presbyterian preacher plane." On board will be Synod of the Sun moderator, Christianne Chase, an elder at First Presbyterian, Enid. Also joining the preaching crew are ministers: Judye Pistol, Alva; Eric Dittman, Blackwell; Roy Schneider, Enid; Karen Rogers, Guthrie; Charles Smith, Kingfisher; Everett Miller, Newkirk; and from Stillwater, B. Gordon Edwards and Leah Hrachovec.
Rev. Smith, the mission's leader, will rent a van in New Orleans to serve as the pulpit supply bus during their 3-day weekend stay. The group returns Sunday evening, March 30.
Other preachers inspired by this unique mission trip are encouraged to contact the presbytery office in South Louisiana to volunteer any available week or weeks of preaching. Call 225-275-1242 or read the notice in the left column of pslpbysouthla.org.
