Scott D. Foster, a senior in the Master of Divinity program at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, received the Presbyterian Outstanding Student Award at the seminary's awards banquet in May.
Foster, 48, is interning at First Presbyterian, Stillwater, OK (Cimarron Presbytery). He received a monetary gift to honor his achievement. The award is sponsored by the First Presbyterian, Fort Scott, KS.
Cimarron Presbytery accepted Foster as a candidate for ordination to the ministry on June 5. Upon receiving his Master of Divinity degree, Foster will be prepared for ordination. Cimarron Presbytery is a body of fifteen congregations in northern and western Oklahoma. They hold membership in the Presbyterian Church (USA) Scott and Becky Foster live in Oklahoma City. They have a son, Blake, and a daughter, Emily.
Phillips Theological Seminary began classes in 1907 in Enid. It was then known as The College of the Bible of Oklahoma Christian University. The seminary has been in Tulsa for 10 years.
